Short answer: For most 10 year olds, yes. Our 50cc gas mini bike is $300, or $350 total with a helmet. Shipping is free to all 50 states, and local families can do same day pickup in Tempe.
Why a 50cc still fits at age 10
The bike suits riders ages about 5 to 13 and holds up to 170 lb. At age 10 most kids are still well inside that range, so the bike is not too small on day one and still has room to grow. Start with fit, not age alone. Read our size guide by age and height and our age guide before you order.
Easy for a first time rider at 10
It is a 50cc two stroke with pull start. It is automatic, so there are no gears and no clutch to learn. A 10 year old who has never ridden can learn throttle control first. Our first ride guide and our beginner kid guide walk through the first day in plain steps.
Speed a parent can control
Top speed is 32 mph. A speed limiter lets a parent set the bike slower while a rider learns. See how fast a 50cc goes for what that speed feels like in real riding.
Price and gear
The bike is $300. The $350 total adds a helmet. Read what a kids dirt bike costs and what safety gear a kid needs before you buy. Colors are black, blue, green, red and yellow. Black and blue are the most asked for.
What shows up
The bike is about 90 percent built. You fit the front wheel and handlebar with included tools and a video. Our setup guide and fuel mix guide cover the first start. It is off road only and has no title. Parts support is 1 year through the manufacturer.
When a 10 year old needs something bigger
If your rider is close to 170 lb, tall for age 10, or already has real riding time, look at electric. The Sykeruns X5 is $975 and the Sykeruns X7 is $1350. Our gas vs electric guide helps you pick, and the electric collection shows both bikes.
