Short answer
If your budget is under $1500 and you want the strongest electric dirt bike we carry, the Sykeruns X7 is $1350 with free shipping to all 50 states and same day pickup in Tempe. It is built for taller and heavier riders and for hills and sand. If none of that sounds like you, save the money and look at the X5 at $975 instead.
What $1350 covers on the X7
- 5500W brushless motor with 220 N.m of torque
- 60V 27Ah lithium battery
- Top speed 56 mph, with three gear steps at about 25, 39 and 56 mph
- Fits riders about 4 ft 8 in to 6 ft 3 in and up to 330 lb
- Hydraulic disc brakes front and rear and a 143 lb bike weight
- Charge time about 6 to 7 hours on a normal household outlet

Who should step up to the X7
Pick the X7 if the rider is over 265 lb, because that is the limit on the X5. Pick it if the rider is taller than 5 ft 11 in, because the X7 fits up to about 6 ft 3 in. Pick it if your ground has real hills or deep sand, because the extra torque is what pulls you up a loose climb from a stop. The X5 vs X7 guide lays both bikes out side by side.
Who should save $375 and buy the X5
If the rider is under 265 lb and under 5 ft 11 in and your ground is mostly flat and open, the Sykeruns X5 at $975 does the job and you keep $375. Our electric bike under $1000 guide covers what the X5 gives you at that price. Riders still picking a size can also read the teen electric guide and the adult electric guide.
Range and charging, planned the real way
The factory number is up to 60 miles per charge. Riders who track real off road use report about 22 to 31 miles. Plan around the lower number and you will not be caught out. Read our battery charging guide before the first charge so the pack lasts.
Gear and where to ride
At 56 mph on dirt, a helmet, goggles, gloves and boots are not optional. Our safety gear guide covers the full list and how to fit a helmet. For places to ride, start with the Arizona riding guide and the electric dirt bikes in Phoenix guide. The X7 is off road only, with no title, and it is not street legal.
What shows up
The bike arrives about 90 percent built. You fit the front wheel and handlebar with the included tools and video, then give it a first full charge. You also get 1 year parts support through the manufacturer. We are a family owned mini moto and ebike club in Tempe, and we handle the parts back and forth for you in that first year.
Buying for a younger kid instead
The X7 is too much bike for a young kid, because even its first gear does about 25 mph. For ages about 5 to 13, look at the 50cc gas mini collection at $300, or $350 total with a helmet. Parents still torn between gas and electric can read the gas vs electric guide. When you are ready, see all of our electric dirt bikes in one place.
